Orthera Selects Amitive Unity to Run Custom Orthotics Business for Warehouse Retailer
Amitive Unity Makes Vision of Mass Customization for Retail A Reality

SAN MATEO, Calif. – May 26, 2009 – Amitive, Inc, the pioneer of Community Supply Chain Management (C-SCM), today announced that Orthera, Inc. has selected Amitive Unity to drive its entire back office operations, from order entry at the retail location through off-shore manufacturing. Amitive Unity will provide comprehensive data visibility to all participating retailers, as well as to Orthera teams located in its U.S. offices and manufacturing facilities in Southern California and South America. The first Orthera retail partner intends to make custom orthotics available at the first locations by July 2009 and available at several hundred stores over the next 18 months.

Orthera, the first company to provide custom orthotics at retail locations, will replace the industry’s age-old, expensive approach of measuring each customer’s foot via plaster casts or foam boxes with its proprietary new digital scanner system. The digital image will be integrated with the Amitive Unity software, which will then manage all subsequent business processes, including order creation directly at the retail location, order validation at the Orthera headquarters, manufacturing work orders, production stage tracking, and shipment. Amitive enables this high-volume customer ordering in a retail environment with its cloud computing-enabled Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that automates high volume data exchange and simplifies communication across a dispersed network of business partners.
